UNITED NATIONS BUSINESS CLINIC

The UN is a promising market for UK companies as the UN overall procurement volume (goods and services combined) of the various UN organisations is worth around £12 billion per year. UN procurement is suitable for small as well as larger companies because payment is guaranteed. In addition, English is the working language and the UK has an excellent reputation among the UN agencies, being the UN's ninth largest supplier in 2015. Although these organisations present huge purchasing opportunities, it is essential to be well prepared and familiar with the purchasing process. It is important to know how to register your company to be invited to bid, and to know which international organisation could be most interested in your company's products or services.

Eleanor Baha, Trade Attache, British Embassy - Department for International Trade (DIT),Geneva and Joanne Ganthier, Trade Adviser at the British Embassy in Copenhagen will be offering expert advice on how UK suppliers of goods and services can take advantage of the significant export opportunities through supplying the United Nations (UN) in Geneva, Rome and Copenhagen

At London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), 33 Queen Street, London EC4R 1AP
Time 9.30am - 5.20pm *Individual 20 minute appointments

SUDAN: AN ECONOMIC OUTLOOK AS THE US LIFTS FINANCIAL SANCTIONS

On 13 January 2017, the USA suspended financial sanctions for Sudan. This is welcome news and has a positive impact on the economic and business environment, providing an opportunity for UK companies to access this under-developed market.

While this happens, all eyes are on Sudan where the prospects of trade are looking much brighter. The event will host a panel discussion with the Ambassador, who will be accompanied by senior representatives from the Sudanese private sector, to debate and forecast the economic prospects of a sanction-free Sudan post-July. This is an opportune time for UK businesses to scope trade opportunities and market entry strategies from key contacts.

At London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), 33 Queen Street, London EC4R 1AP
Time 2.00pm - 5.00pm

Places are extremely limited, if you would like further information about the roundtable please contact Ruma Deb, Senior International Business Manager, E: rdeb@londonchamber.co.uk or T: +44 (0)20 7203 1949
